Steve is the founder of Moon & Back, shaping the brand’s signature style and culture over the past decade. A natural-born storyteller, Steve has been making films since childhood, alongside family and friends. His keen eye for filmmaking became apparent early on, winning short film awards by the age of 14.

Whether it’s spontaneous adventures between weddings or pursuing his latest entrepreneurial venture, Steve’s life is one of continuous exploration, creativity, and collaboration. His latest project, the non-alcoholic wine brand Society De La Rassi, reflects his curious spirit and passion for creating products that align with his values.

Fairy is Moon & Back’s creative director and filmmaker, whose work is shaped by instinct and a curiosity about people and their stories. Growing up in Western Australia, studying Fine Art at the Chelsea College of Art & Design in London, and later living and working aboard a refurbished 1930s steamship, Fairy’s journey—like many at Moon & Back—has been dynamic and unconventional.

With a background in sculpture and a lifelong interest in visual storytelling, she brings a unique approach and intuitive sensitivity to every project. When traveling between shoots, she’s often by the beach, perusing art galleries, or attempting to blend in at a local gig.

Courtney is the master of operations at Moon & Back, providing the stability and calm that allows the team to travel year-round and focus on their creative work.

With a background in TV news production and a degree in Journalism, Courtney has a wealth of experience and ensures everything runs smoothly behind the scenes with the highest level of professionalism. Based in Melbourne, she is an avid reader, a dedicated parent to her Australian Shepherd Bunny and, of course, loves to travel.

Originally from a small town in the east of the Netherlands, Mireille moved to Amsterdam to study Cultural & Civil Development before discovering a passion in both fashion and film. On set, she developed an eye for composition and light—an instinct that complements her background in social work, where connecting across cultures and putting people at ease comes naturally

A trained ballerina and festival enthusiast, Mireille is also known for her love of the Austrian Alps and her cat, Maxima—aptly named after the queen of the Netherlands. We love to brag about her cameo in The Devil Wears Prada, and if you can’t master the French pronunciation, we know her as Meer.

With a passion for destination filmmaking sparked by an innate interest in people and storytelling, Julia began producing short documentaries before becoming a seasoned videographer at Moon & Back. She’s our global representative, impossible to pin down to any one culture. With British and French roots, having grown up in Rome and lived in Berlin, London, and Melbourne, Julia is trilingual and at ease in any setting.

With an adventurous spirit and laid-back attitude, Julia continues to impress with her ever-expanding list of hobbies. Her latest pursuits include hiking, painting, film photography, and most recently, triathlons.

Drawing on her extensive background as a journalist and photographer, this talented filmmaker approaches every project with precision and enthusiasm. Originally from rural Western Australia, Dannika seamlessly adapts to any environment, capturing her travels through analogue photography with a focus on landscapes and urban reportage.

Her commitment to mastering the Texas two-step after a recent trip to Austin is just one example of Dannika’s diverse and wide-ranging interests, which reflect her intellectual curiosity and engagement with her surroundings.

Danielle is the first point of contact for our couples and partners. With years of experience and clear passion, she thoughtfully curates a personalised Moon & Back experience for every client. Having worked in the luxury fashion industry and lived in London and New York, Danielle has an astute understanding of client relationships and aesthetics.

With a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Psychological Sciences, Danielle seamlessly blends creativity with strategy, driving our digital presence with her marketing finesse. Known for her wicked sense of humor, Danielle is our resident hype girl, always keeping the team inspired and entertained.
